Columbia - The Rev. Diane Moseley, executive director of Killingsworth Home, has been named a 2002 Woman of Distinction by the S.C. Governor's Commission on Women.
The award honors South Carolina women who inspire other women to set their goals high and share their gifts with their family, community and state.
The residence that houses the shelter is celebrating its 100th year, and Killingsworth has been undergoing restorations and refurbishing in preparation for its next century of service.
Moseley became director of Killingsworth, a shelter for women in crisis, in 1977.
Throughout the year, Moseley and Killingsworth board are encouraging Methodists to note the birthday year with gifts that will secure the continuation of the home.
